Bright watercolor illustration of space themed scene with the word 'SPACE' in large letters filled with planets, stars, and galaxies. Two animals dressed as scientists, a cat and a frog, are wearing lab coats and holding scientific instruments, set against a background of space with asteroids, planets, rockets, and comets.
A cartoon of a cat dressed as an astronaut flying in space next to a frog scientist pointing at planets and planets on the wall, with a view of Earth from a space station window.

"Billy: "Dr. Toad! Dr. Toad! Look up! The sky is full of sparkly glitter tonight!"

Dr. Toad: Oh my, Billy! Ribbit! That’s not glitter. Those are stars! They are winking at us!"

Billy: "Hi stars! Do you think they are made of diamonds?"

Dr. Toad: "They shine like diamonds! But they are actually big balls of warm, glowing light. Like giant flashlights floating in the dark!"

Billy: "Whoa! I want to visit them. I’m going to build a super-fast rocket ship. Zoooom!"

Dr. Toad: "Can I be your co-pilot? I want to see if the Moon is really made of cheese."

Billy: Giggles. "Silly Dr. Toad! If the Moon was cheese, you would eat it all up for a snack!"

Dr. Toad: "You caught me! Okay, Captain Billy, put on your space helmet. 3... 2... 1... Blast off!"

Billy: "To the stars! Whoosh!"

DID YOU KNOW…

💎 It Rains Diamonds on Neptune and Uranus!

On Earth, we are used to rain made of water. But on the planets Neptune and Uranus (the "Ice Giants" of our solar system), scientists believe it actually rains real diamonds!

How does it work?

  1. These planets have thick atmospheres filled with a gas called methane.

  2. Deep down inside the planets, the pressure is incredibly strong. It is so intense that it squeezes the methane gas until it breaks apart.

  3. The carbon atoms from the gas get squished together so tightly that they turn into solid diamonds.

  4. These diamonds then fall like heavy rainstones toward the center of the planet, slowly sinking into a slushy, icy ocean.

Some scientists think these "diamonds" could be huge—possibly millions of carats in size!
